⛩️ Tight fight at Deventer Dojo

On a sunny Saturday afternoon the brave warriors of Harambee men's 1 gathered for a journey towards Deventer Dojo. A battle on the volleyball court awaits us. Our opponent, Avior men's 2, greets us with familiarity in the form of Leon.

The first set began with Avior men's 2 looking quite ready for the fight, launching powerful attacks and sharp strikes that pierced through the Harambee defense. With their valiant efforts to fend off every assault, Harambee veiled through with a blocking frenzy and stopped multiple attacks in a row at the end of the first set. Unfortunately, Harambee was close to grasping the first set, but lost at the last strike, with an honorable score of 28-30.

In the second set, the Harambee samurai showed that they would not lay down their swords so easily and tried to restore the honor of their clan. Harambee took the lead with their own range of attacks, which proved to be fruitful against the opponent. Throughout the set, the lead grew and at the deciding point, with Herwin at the helm, the weak spot in Avior's defense was found. The ball was served directly on the line with precision. A masterful move that ended the set in one powerful stroke (25-22).

Empowered by their victory in the second set, the Samureins entered the third set with determination in their eyes. They gained ground, point by point, and took a 2-1 lead in this battlefield, even fiercer than in the previous set (25-19).

But the battle was not yet over. In the fourth set, the warriors of Avior made a comeback; Scoring became increasingly difficult and until the last few points, the tension was rising. Unfortunately, it was Avior who claimed this set, and the Harambee samurai were left bewildered by this unexpected setback (22-25).

In the decisive fifth set, the Samureins continued to lag behind. Despite a courageous fight, the quick blows before switching sides were too much to overcome. Ultimately, Avior proved to be the true victor of this battlefield, with an honorable but bitter defeat for Harambee men's 1 (9-15).
