Ladies 7 strikes again!

Dear reader,

Today’s match was against Devoc ladies 4. Last time we won 2-3 against them, so it was likely going to be an exciting match. Well, spoiler alert, we totally smashed them away. 

The match started off very evenly until we got to 24-24. We knew we were better, but because we wanted to give them some hope we let them win the first set. It was all tackics of course. Their spirits were now very high, meaning we could burn them down even more. 

So, that’s what we did in the second set. In the beginning it was still close, but once Sanne started serving, we took a huge lead. We won the second set, which set the tone for the rest of the game. 

The third set is generally a tough set through the curse that rests on it. Nonetheless, we managed to win it. Which felt great because we knew that if we pushed through just a little more, we could win 3-1. At the same time, they were getting more and more annoyed. This meant that all it took was some more singing and positive spirits. 

So, that’s what we did. We sang a lot of songs; had smiles from ear to ear; and kept going for every ball. We won the set with good numbers. 

Moral of the story today: if you first let them get their hopes up, you can smash them down even more.
