– The Day the Streak Fell
Filed by TheLaW
TheLaW is signing in today with sad news. The commandos have been defeated. After a long and glorious winning streak, someone finally managed to get the better of us.
On our way into enemy territory, confidence charged through the troop. We believed we were going to secure another victory. But once on the battlefield, a very different war cry echoed.
Set 1
We promised each other we would begin the first set on fire… but the spark simply wasn’t there.
The enemy seized the opportunity immediately, tearing into our defenses before we could regroup. We fought, we battled, we pushed but in the end, our efforts weren’t enough to turn the tide.
Set 2
The second set began with promise. Our fire was still burning, and we quickly created a huge gap between us and the enemy.
But confidence is a dangerous weapon when turned inward. Slowly the enemy started catching up, and once they did, they never looked back.
We struggled to hold our lead while they grew stronger off our mistakes. The commandos fought well individually, but on that court… we did not feel like one unit.
Set 3
Hope wasn’t lost. We’ve climbed back from 0–2 before, and we believed we could do it again.
We started the set with a slight advantage. But nerves were crawling through the squad. The bench fell silent. Teammates asked for cheering. The battle felt heavier, tighter, harder than expected.
It was a fierce fight, but we could not turn it into a victory.
Set 4
With our backs against the wall, the chief made the call: change the lineup, change the angle, change the energy.
The fresh troops that stepped onto the front line came in blazing. They were chanting, “We win this set together!”
Their energy was contagious. Powerful attacks. Strong blocks. A rising morale.
At one point an enemy was blocked so cleanly he had to be substituted out. Not going to lie, that moment was pretty funny.
We may have lost today’s battle, but the commando spirit remains unbroken.
Every defeat teaches. Every fall sharpens.
And trust me the commandos will rise again.
