Bloodshed in Enter
The day after Sinterklaas it was time to give ourselves one more present, a few points and third place in the competition. We had the pleasure to play against Gents 1 of Enter and thus had prime time: 17:00! This meant we had to have some proper lunch which Thijs provided for us. Swen (red: Procyonis) was flown in to coach us since our Hoofdpiet was busy building surprises. After lunch we got into the cars and a little while later we entered Enter.
Then we saw a bright flash.
The next moment we were in the middle of the set. 11-1 behind. Not being strange to the feeling of being 10 points behind (Oh hello Rivo Rijssen) we promptly started playing volleyball and turned the set around just in time to secure the win of the first set.
Eager by our lead we continued with the same energy in the second set. So eager someone forgot that a ball in your face can hurt and cause nosebleeds. Stijn required some me-time in the toilet to think about the pros and cons of defending with your face and thus Tom came back in after a quick wipe of the floor to hide Stijn’s trail. Smelling blood we got even more fired up and won the 2nd set by a bigger margin.
Then the third set went quite strange. Before the set Mart was called away to choose which side he wanted to play on.. A bit startled he decided to continue on the blood stained court to feed our ever growing bloodlust. After 8 points the opponent must have noticed how eager we were playing on that side and decided they wanted to change sides. The referee accepted their proposal and thus we switched sides. Alas this had no effect and after a few more points the referee decided it was best to end this set at 15 points and give us the victory. We won the match 0-3!
