OPERATION "Burning BOVO"
Commando’s Log: Friday, 12 December 2025 – Redemption at Home Base
Filed by commando TheLaW
After the loss in our previous battle, it was time to redeem ourselves and this time, we did it on our own soil.
Everyone knew this fight would be against the lowest-ranked team in the pool. Chief had warned us during training: do not underestimate the opponent.
So of course… we did exactly that.
Set 1 — Asleep at the Gates
The battle began, and as tradition sadly dictates, the commandos entered the field half asleep.
The opponent took advantage immediately and jumped into the lead. It felt like they got into our heads. We couldn’t pass, couldn’t set, couldn’t attack. Nothing worked.
After a quick timeout from chief, we finally snapped out of it. Determination returned, focus sharpened, and slowly we fought our way back into the set.
Claw by claw, point by point, we climbed and in the end, secured the set.
Set 2 — Paying the Price
By the second set, the underestimation continued and this time, we paid for it.
The battle itself wasn’t difficult, but the way we approached it was careless. The commandos were fighting nonchalant, as if victory would come on its own.
Chief responded by calling in substitutions. The set was nearing its end, but the new troops wanted it badly. One of them went on a serve streak of four balls, trying to build momentum and regain position.
Unfortunately, the effort came too late. The set slipped away.
Set 3 — Hunger Unleashed
Everything changed in the third set.
The new lineup was fully awake and hungry.
Our outside hitter smelled blood and went for every kill available. Passing still needed work, but our attacks kept landing, and the enemy struggled under the pressure.
They had one player who could’ve been a real threat, but one soldier alone can’t fight an entire unit.
This lineup moved as one, communicating, lifting each other up, and fighting together.
Set 4 — Breaking the Spirit
By the fourth set, we had captured the enemy’s spirit.
They no longer knew how to fight us, or from which angle to challenge our defense.
Middle attacks were blocked.
Outside attacks were blocked.
Even their A attacks were shut down.
To make matters worse for them, their setter stayed in the front line for most of the set, limiting their options even further. Every route they tried led straight into our wall.
That set ended quickly and decisively.
Final Debrief
And so ends the final match of the year.
This season taught us hard lessons about focus, humility, and trust.
Next year, we return stronger.
Smarter.
More united.
The commandos will be ready.
