Harambee HS2 v Vips Bardot HS1
Let me explain how this goes… My name is TheLaW_. After each match I will come up here and rant about how well we played or how the refs f’d us up… Losing is never our fault. That is a fact!
So, you know how it is. New school year, new teammates, for some of us new team. On Friday September 12th, we had our first home match against Vips Bardot HS2.
We did the usual, go to a teammate’s house, ate together, had some laughs, some bonding. You know all in preparation for the game. We thought we were ready.
While warming up, we saw that these guys were a bunch of old dudes so we thought this would be easy.. but as the saying goes with age comes wisdom or whatever. We got whooped by their “wisdom”.
I gotta say as individuals we got a lot of potential on the team. Every single one of us showed why we’re on the team and what we can do. But it’s a team sport after all so we need to find a way to combine our strengths and cover each other’s weaknesses.
Anyway, we now realize that as a team we have a lot of growing to do, a lot of trusting to do, a lot of communication to do. So we’ll be working on that during the coming practices for our next match.

Laat me even uitleggen hoe dit gaat… Mijn naam is TheLaW_. Na elke wedstrijd kom ik hierop om een beetje te rantten over hoe goed we hebben gespeeld of hoe de scheids ons hebben genaaid… Verliezen is nooit onze schuld. Dat is een feit!
Dus, je weet hoe het gaat. Nieuw schooljaar, nieuwe teamgenoten, voor sommigen van ons een nieuw team. Op vrijdag 12 september hadden we onze eerste thuiswedstrijd tegen Vips Bardot HS2.
We deden het gebruikelijke: naar het huis van een teamgenoot, samen eten, wat lachen, beetje band opbouwen. Je weet wel, allemaal ter voorbereiding op de wedstrijd. We dachten dat we er klaar voor waren.
Tijdens het warmup zagen we dat het een stel oude kerels waren dus we dachten dit wordt makkelijk… maar zoals het gezegde gaat: met de leeftijd komt wijsheid of zoiets. We werden in elkaar geslagen door hun “wijsheid”.
Ik moet zeggen, als individuen hebben we veel potentie in het team. Elk van ons liet zien waarom we in het team zitten en wat we kunnen doen. Maar het is uiteindelijk een teamsport dus we moeten een manier vinden om onze krachten te combineren en elkaars zwaktes te compenseren.
Hoe dan ook, we beseffen nu dat we als team nog veel moeten groeien, veel vertrouwen moeten opbouwen, veel communiceren. Dus daar gaan we aan werken tijdens de komende trainingen voor onze volgende wedstrijd.
