Swimming association extinguishes winning streak
With a (soon to be) winning streak on our side, it was time to visit the site in Oldenzaal. Before this we went schaften at Toms place, where we had spaghetti with not-so-meat balls. While we had a few workers canceling, we luckily found sufficient substitutes to help the heavy lifting.
The first set started and we really showed them how much muscle we can grow from some almost-meatballs. The sets that were given were quick enough to keep the opponents middles from closing the block. On one point even the diagonal was too late and Roel scored against a zero-man block. Even while we were playing quite well, we could not take the set home. Back to the drawing board and the second set we improved on our mistakes with two phrases that work in everyday life; keep calm and keep it easy.
Like a well-oiled asphalt roller we rolled over them for the larger part of the third set too, but unfortunately gave it away at the end. We noticed that our block started lacking a bit and many balls bounced in difficult directions instead of being dunked down like a controlled building implosion. The fourth set we had our tools sharpened and ready to make victory our next project. Unfortunately our basis wasn’t solid and we gave the fourth set away on service mistakes alone.
We want to thank ‘Alles-van-de-grond’ Aurel and ‘Fuck them up’ Frank for their solid work while joining the force and living up to their newly acquired nicknames.
Playing next to the swimming pool
They decided not to block the Roel
Alas we lost
Serving was a cost
Next time we will make them look a fool
