Breaking through the roof in Denekamp
In preparation of our next match, we were invited over at Nicolai's place for dinner. Since the living room required 7 couches, there was no room left to eat and the dining tables were placed over the length of the hallway. On both sides of the table was just enough room to fit our enormous chests, which quickly lead to teammates pushing their coworkers against the wall. After a quick inquiry amongst the roommates we figured that none of them actually considered it as weird. For our second match, we we... Read more
"Operation Vips VANQUISH" ... but it wasn't
Commando's Log; Thursday, 6 November 2025 – TheLaW reporting for duty Before we dive into the events of this mission, I’d like to take a moment to salute my fellow commando who held the line while I was on leave from the battlefield.I had been granted temporary leave to visit family and recharge, but now I’m back — boots laced, ready for action, and eager to get back into the fight. Mission Briefing This battle wasn’t just another match on the schedule — it meant something. This squad was the fi... Read more
After exam week
We had to warm up in the first set. It worked out in the second set. Not in the third set. We were close in the fourth set, but we could not keep our lead. The match made us cry, But then there was apple pie. We could have used some energy drinks, To give us wings. Next time we are going to fly!... Read more
WE WON (one set)
Yes yes, today it was time for another match! And for the first time, we can actually show our Winnieh the Two shirts! What the attentive reader may have noticed, is that we still have no libero with us. So again, some improvisations were made. Luckily, our outsiders and middles are so supremely good in service pass, we didn’t need a libero today. I will talk some statistics in a moment, but first, a quick question. What do you think happened in the fifth point? A. A dog ran into the field B. ... Read more
More libero’s than opposites
In the absence of your usual reporter, who thoroughly enjoyed his leave from the strict commandos regime, you will receive the match report from someone else this week. Last Friday (01-11), Gents commandos was finally able to show their true team during the official opening weekend. With a new uniform, new yell and a roaring homecrowd at the start of the evening, there is nothing we would miss. Well that was obviously wrong, with few of our regular troops being on leave to other places and one of our set... Read more
Slaying on Halloween 🔪🔪🔪
In the first set we were like: this team is really good! Scary times, especially because it was Halloween👻. We lost that one quite badly. But then! The second set came. We lost that one as well.. We needed to give them a false feeling of winning and then it was comeback time!!! Third set!!! Comeback time for real. The energy was there, the smashes were there there, the passes, the communication, the passion, the love we have for this game❤️ And we won the third set! Then, in the fourth set, our pas... Onze eerste overwinning!
Nieuwe week, nieuwe kansen. Read more
Read more
Volley ’68 HS1 – Harambee HS3 10/09/2025
Gents three’s season started off with a serious challenge. The men were sent on their first mission after only one training session as a new team. The newly formed team met up at the Sports Centre, where they were joined by reinforcements Mr. Holtkamp and Mr. Willems. Before we left, Mr. Holtkamp kindly helped fellow students to jump-start their new year. Or at least their car. After helping them on their way, the team left towards Losser, eager to test their skill and teamwork against the a formidable... Read more
Vips Bardot HS3 – Harambee HS3 20/09/2025
This Saturday Gents Three was sent on it’s next mission, which took place in our own backyard! And just like our first mission, we once again faced old rivals. Or rather, old allies-turned-rivals. Back in the old days... Anyway. The matchday started with lunch at the stands to cheer on the other teams that were already playing their games. We were happy to have coach Chiel back from spending two weeks at Defensie. Among other things, Chiel expanded his knowledge of torture methods of different forms stren... Read more
