Traveled to Travelssen
As always, we started our match preparation with a solid foundation. For this we had 'brunch' at Maartens keet, for which we gathered at 9. This might have been a bit early as leidinggevende Martin needed to be picked up from his bed. But alas we were complete and traveled to Rijssen. No work done without coffee, so the few spare minutes we had were spent on black gold, but only the bare minimum because we had a tight schedule for the day. And thus many mouths were burned on the coffee tempo. In the spir... Lees meer
OPERATION "BVC Barrier Breaker"
Commando’s Log: Friday, November 28 2025 Filed by commando TheLaW Another battle, another test of will. Set 1 — The Morning FogThe first set started with that familiar low energy again. We really need to find the cure for that. Before we knew it, the enemy was pulling ahead, and chief had to make some early changes to wake us up. After that switch we started firing our cannons. Strong serves, solid blocks but our biggest weakness showed: we kept trying to hammer the enemy with raw power, even when it wa... Lees meer
Potje tijdrekken met Almelo
“Zonder bodem wordt er niet gewerkt” and thus we gathered again at Nicolai’s place to have dinner. This time we were allowed in the living room. Within the team we keep track of each other's allergies, intolerances and ‘Things we can't get through our throat’. Chickpeas were included in the last category for Mart and while the chickpea curry was delicious, there were some complaints from [name redacted]. Although the team has a strong work-ethic, the members regularly find excuses to get out of wo... Lees meer
OPERATION "Fata Morgana"
Commando's Log: Friday, 14 November 2025 Filed by Commando TheLaW Another day, another battle. And this one… I would proudly classify as Target Practice. The enemy crossed into our borders thinking the commandos would just stand aside and watch. But after our previous mission, we were starving — hungry for a clean, decisive fight. So instead of waiting, we brought the battle straight to them. Pre-Battle Recon During warm-up, the enemy tried to intimidate us with heavy artillery. They were launching ma... Lees meer
Swimming association extinguishes winning streak
With a (soon to be) winning streak on our side, it was time to visit the site in Oldenzaal. Before this we went schaften at Toms place, where we had spaghetti with not-so-meat balls. While we had a few workers canceling, we luckily found sufficient substitutes to help the heavy lifting. The first set started and we really showed them how much muscle we can grow from some almost-meatballs. The sets that were given were quick enough to keep the opponents middles from closing the block. On one point even th... Lees meer
From Groundwork to Handover: 4-0 geen gelul
Still a bit claustrophobic from our last match we prepared ourselves for another match against Mare Volley. Since this time we would not have height restrictions we’ve already put down a proper foundation for the win. But before we could do any work we had to take a break with dinner at the freshly constructed home of Olaf on the Boulevard. Arriving in the hall Gents 2 luckily won the game in the first 3 sets. We don’t talk about bruno the last set. The safety inspector (referee) cleared the field an... Lees meer
Nogsteeds op een set-winningspree!
Goooeeeedemiddag!

Building the basis in Borne
For our first match of the season the construction peeps had to travel to the familiar Borne. Before that we needed a solid foundation. For this we gathered at our usual keet; the sports centre. For this our Foreman Mart brought buns, which quickly started the feud between white vs brown buns; the century old discussion between fibers and grade of moisture. After watching some other Harambee teams build a solid start of their season, we were well motivated to visit the construction site in Borne. Due to ... Lees meer
Breaking through the roof in Denekamp
In preparation of our next match, we were invited over at Nicolai's place for dinner. Since the living room required 7 couches, there was no room left to eat and the dining tables were placed over the length of the hallway. On both sides of the table was just enough room to fit our enormous chests, which quickly lead to teammates pushing their coworkers against the wall. After a quick inquiry amongst the roommates we figured that none of them actually considered it as weird. For our second match, we we... Lees meer
